Fairy-wood Redwood Bowl
Made from rare redwood from the center of a fairy ring. Fairy rings form when an old growth redwood tree regrows new trees from the roots of the original tree forming a fairy ring of trees. After a hundred years or so the roots of the new trees fill in the center of the circle and create fairy wood. When the new trees are cut down the roots are left to grow new trees. Only one in a hundred thousand trees is the fairy wood is removed and very rarely is it saved from the root grinder. This bowl is stabilized with food grade resin and a hard wax finish.
